Regular Orders
When you purchase one of our mp3's you will normally receive a download code from our website with instructions. Follow the instructions that came in your email. Your download will be delivered either as single mp3 tracks, or as a single compressed (.zip) file.
How to Download from a Link
In some cases you may receive a direct link to an mp3 or video download by email. The following instructions apply to DIRECT LINKS such as this EXAMPLE link from a sample of Steven's Teachers & Tricksters workshop:
http://www.forrestastrology.com/images/stories/audio/teachersSample.mp3.
IMPORTANT! Do not CLICK the link above to download it. If you CLICK the link, it will begin playing on your computer and will not download. Use the link above to test the instructions below.
PC People
If you're on a PC, RIGHT-Click the link and choose "Save As" or "Save link as" and then select a folder to download your file to.
1) Never select "open" or "run". Be sure to remember the location where your file is being downloaded (your Music folder or Desktop are good locations).
2) Once your download is complete, you can import it into iTunes (see below), WinAmp or Media Monkey, or locate the file and double click to play in your default program. IF YOU HAVE DOWNLOADED A ZIP FILE, locate and right-click the .zip file, select "Extract All" and then follow the onscreen instructions.
3) You can now open each individual song or video file (songs and videos will play in your default media player). You can create a cd or sync the tracks to your mp3 player.
Mac People
If you are on a MAC, HOLD the CONTROL button and THEN click the link, either with your mouse or your trackpad clicker. Then select a folder to download your file to.
Once you download your mp3, you can load the file into iTunes and sync with your mp3 player.
You can can also use one of these programs to burn a copy of your download to cd.
Help With Itunes
To add your downloaded music to your iTunes library:
1) Open iTunes.
2) From the File menu, choose one of the following choices:
- add file to library (to add a single song)
- add folder to library (to add an album)
3) Navigate to and select the file or folder that you want to add.
4) Now Go to Music and search for Forrest. You'll see your new additions in the results.
iTunes will automatically put your tracks in order, but you can also create a Playlist with your new files in order to create a cd or upload to your mp3 player.
To see the track number in iTunes as a sort column, right-click the toolbar title bar (which includes Disc#, Track# and Name) and select Track Number to put a check by it. Now that column shows up and you can click that title to sort by track number.
Extracting Zip Files (for PC People)
Using a zip file allows you to download your content quickly. Getting files or folders out of a compressed/zip file is known as "extracting" them.
1) Select "save" or "save as" if prompted when your download begins. Never select "open" or "run". Be sure to remember the location where your zip file is being downloaded (your Desktop is a good location).
2) Once your download is complete, locate and right-click the file, select "Extract All" and then follow the onscreen instructions.
3) You will then be able to open each individual song file (songs will play in your default media player).
