Astrology Apprenticeship Program Weekend Workshop
December 1-3, 2017
Astrological Timing: Progressions
In this weekend workshop Steven will introduce the theory and practice of progressions.
A couple have a baby. They ask me to make some predictions. I say, “For the next 18 years or so, she will get taller each day. Then she will begin to get rounder. Around age 30, we will begin to see some gray in her hair.” We may laugh, but those are very reliable statements. Those physical processes are hard-wired into our organisms, like a biological clock. Progressions work exactly the same way. They are the DNA of your birthchart, predicting the timing of developmental themes – and sometimes of developmental crises. Unlike transits, which we all share – Pluto is Capricorn for everybody - the progressions are purely personal, unique and internal. But, just like transits, in practice they are simply points that move around the chart, forming aspects, triggering development and precipitating biographical events.
Prediction using only transits is like eating an egg without salt. Something fundamental is missing. Astrologers are often intimidated by them, but they are no more complex than working with transits. You'll learn how to start working with the progressed Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Ascendant and Midheaven, getting to know the inner meaning, synchronistic correlates, and potential dysfunctions of each one of them. (The progressions of the rest of the planets are so slow that we leave them out of the practical toolbox.)
Morning sessions will feature "information transmission" and afternoons will be dedicated to Q&A with Steven to facilitate integration of the morning's teaching.
This workshop is worth 2 credits towards certification. See certification information for details.

Borrego Springs is the perfect location for a winter retreat - reliably sunny, and generally blessed with sweater or tee-shirt temperatures.
This quiet town is one of two official “Dark Sky Communities” in the United States. So make time for some star gazing under the awe-inspiring night sky of this "lights out" city. Weather permitting, we might even get Steven to take out his trusty laser pointer to show us a few highlights.
